International (English) Course on Participatory Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation – Managing for Impact (the Netherlands)

The (English) course recognises that "blue print planning" has become unworkable and often counterproductive. Instead, more flexible, adaptive and process orientated approaches are required. M&E needs to be learning focused, and directed towards supporting managers to cope in a complex and rapidly changing world.

International (French) Course on Participatory Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation - Managing for Impact (Burkina Faso)

This (French) course is organised in collaboration with Institut Supérieur des Sciences de la Population (ISSP) and the Africa Evaluation Association (AfrEA), annually since 2011. The course recognises that "blue print planning" has become unworkable and often counterproductive.

Development of a country M&E system (Jordan), for IFAD

Provide advisory services to assist in the development of a country M&E system for IFAD in Jordan. Their primary government partners are the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Planning and International cooperation. They view the development of a M&E system within the MOA for their programmes as a possible model for other ministries.

Conducting a Country Baseline Study for the Girl Power Programme of the Child Rights Alliance (10 countries in Latin America, Africa & Asia), for Plan NL

The Girl Power programme, developed by 6 civil society organisations in the Netherlands, working together in the Child Rights Alliance (CRA), runs from 2011 to 2015. Its main goal is to build capacity in local civil society in 10 countries in Latin America, Africa and Asia, to support the empowerment of girls and young women for gender equality.

Support to overall baseline approach and framework (linked to M&E system) Cordaid alliance: Input into overall baseline development (principles, approach) and M&E system development.

Integrating Managing for Impact and Results-Based Management (Jordan), for IFAD

Developed recommendations for a Results-Based Country Strategy and Opportunities Paper (RB-COSOP) 2008-2012 results-framework and monitoring plan, aligned to Government strategic targets;

Facilitation of M&E system development (Uganda, Niger, Zambia and Rwanda), for Agri-ProFocus

One of the main goals of the Agri-ProFocus members is to build solid, transparent and action-oriented support programmes to promote farmer entrepreneurship.

Support for Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation in Livelihoods and Landscapes Strategy (Burundi & Burkina Faso), for IUCN

The Livelihoods and Landscapes Strategy (LLS) is a major initiative from the IUCN Forest Conservation Programme. It is implemented in 25 countries. A Participatory Monitoring and Evaluation (PM&E) System was developed. The implementation of the PM&E system requires training workshops, field advice and materials to be prepared.

Regional Programme to Strengthen Managing for Impact in Eastern and Southern Africa (Kenya, South Africa, Ethiopia & Tanzania), for IFAD

Overall goal: Contribute to increasing the impact of interventions aimed at rural poverty reduction in East and Southern Africa. Purpose: "Key stakeholders more effectively manage pro-poor programmes in Eastern and Southern Africa towards impact".
